Once More…

Well, for some reason, after 18 months of not even holding a brush in my hands, I started another painting a few days ago.  There is a bit of finish work to do but it is pretty much done.  What started as a real experience of driving along one of the county roads and being captivated by the view out of the window became a photograph. The photograph became an idea that I imagined projected onto a blank canvas sitting on an easel in the office for the past several months.  After a few hours of work the result is neither the real experience nor the idea imagined onto the canvas, but something else.  I’ll take a few days to mull over the result before putting it in a corner for a few months to let it dry.  After a final coat of varnish it will be another attempt to remember what I saw that was so compelling on a late summer drive in eastern Oregon.

  1. Very very good, Kevin.

  2. Oh my… I am literally speechless, Kevin. Thank you for sharing. It is so beautiful. I feel like I was with you as you drove down that road and saw this wonderful view.

  3. Whatever you saw, what you captured is beautiful and calming. Bicyling
alongside such vistas would be something to look forward to.
