I’m not a big video person, preferring instead to work with photographs, paintings, music, etc. But I have posted a few YouTube videos on the blog that after awhile get lost in the old posts. So I thought I’d create a page to keep track of the few that I have done in the hopes that they’ll be easier to find and occasionally enjoy again when the mood strikes. Oldest first…

button on the video toolbar and choose 480p or higher rather than 360 if given a choice…)
Powwow – filmed at Montana State University in the Spring of 2008. I was fascinated with the colors, the movement, the sound. It was pretty incredible for a few short minutes to be caught up in the culture of the modern powwow.
Turner Ranch – a demonstration of a painting I did. After a painting is done it’s very hard to remember all the stages that it went through, from the rough out to the final touches. This video just scrolls through a typical set of changes that a painting goes through.
Fox Kits – a year ago (2009) we got to see the emergence of a litter of fox kits. Three adults and about seven kits hung around for maybe three weeks before they all disappeared into the woods (we hope!). This film was taken the first day we actually saw them emerge and play around in the den area.
Night life – although I was hopeful we’d have a breeding pair of foxes in the den over the winter, it apparently didn’t happen. A family of skunks had been making nightly forays into the den until we became aware that one of the foxes had returned. This is one of the first ‘midnight’ films I could put together of the fox reclaiming the space…
Things continue to proceed at the fox den this season: We rather unexpectedly got the following video a week after the previous one. I was so surprised I nearly fell off my chair the first time I saw it…
Here’s the latest fox compilation for 2010:
More Fox 2010 – the kits put in their first appearance of the season…
The kits in 2010 (all 7 of them) made it through the next several weeks before being relocated to some new spot by the adults. Here’s the last compilation video of their time above ground:
